I’ve fallen to the dark side. On the first day of March Break, I enjoyed “Bon Cop, Bad Cop” (see trailer above) using my Movie Network On-Demand subscription. It was extremely entertaining, particularly given the stereotypes that are reinforced.

Essentially, it’s about a murder victim literally on the border between Québec and Ontario. The body hangs over the sign which welcomes visitors from Ontario into Québec and vice-versa. The two cops, David Bouchard (from Québec) and Martin Ward (from the OPP) are assigned the case and ordered to cooperate, but during their investigation, they stumble through dozens of roadblocks, for instance:
Their investigation takes them to Montréal, Toronto, and places in between, as more and more members of the hockey community are murdered by a serial killer.
Note: this movie is a bilingual one; the characters frequently switch between French and English. The parts in French are subtitled as well.
Now, I wouldn’t want to spoil your movie-watching experience, particularly if you want to watch this movie for the first time. I’m sure you can find a few dozen clips of this movie on YouTube.
This is a hilarious movie! You should see it, particularly if you’re Canadian!
